Happy First Day of Fall!!!To celebrate Autumn, here is a super easy decorating DIY! To add a Disney twist, I’m calling these Chip and Dale…
Last weekend Disney and fashion lovers from all over gathered at the Disneyland Resort in Anaheim, CA for the semi-annual fan organized event known as Dapper Day. Dapper Day celebrates the tradition of “stepping out in style,” and while many guests choose vintage and vintage-inspired fashion, I always like to bring my own personal style which tends to be more modern and above all, colorful.
In an effort to add some Springtime cheer to our home decor, I decided to make some decorative pillows in the shape of Easter eggs. For those who don’t know me…I’m not exactly what you would call a master seamstress. In fact, the exact opposite is true so trust me when I tell you that this craft is definitely beginner friendly. To add a little Disney flare, I made some printable iron-on transfers of some of my favorite Disney-inspired designs that my husband recreated for this project. The result was an adorably squishable pillow that would make a perfect addition for any Easter basket.
So one day I was walking through Michael’s and happened to come across these adorable mini-mailboxes for about $3 and I immediately knew exactly what I wanted to do with one. So I picked it up, brought it home and let it sit on a shelf for about a month (isn’t that the way these things always go?!) But today I woke up feeling crafty and decided that this was the day that I would finally create my Carl and Ellie replica mailbox from the Disney Pixar movie Up. Here’s how I did it. 🙂
- First things first, gather your supplies. If you’re someone who crafts often you’ll probably have most of these things in your house already. If not, you can find all of these things and any local craft store or even the art supply section of your local Walmart (with the exception of the mailbox itself, which I mentioned before came from Michael’s craft store).
