“Shiny” Tamatoa inspired DIY Sunglasses
Posted in Disneybound, and DIY
Confession: My daughter and I love all things colorful and sparkly. So naturally, we are absolutely in love with Tamatoa’s fabulously glam style in Disney’s Moana! I decided to follow the lead of the world’s shiniest crab and created this simple sunglasses DIY to take our summer style from drab to fab in just 3 easy steps. Shiny!!!
You and me… we’re in a club now! It’s a club for people who love Disney and ice cream and Disney-inspired ice cream!!!
In honor of National Ice Cream Sandwich Day, I drew inspiration from the movie, Up and created what I’m calling the Ellie Badge Ice Cream Sandwich! It’s an over-sized grape soda flavored ice cream sandwich held together with two bottle cap shaped sugar cookies, and decorated with royal icing to resemble the “badge” Ellie gives to Carl in the film. It was super fun to make and even more fun to slice up and eat!
Today marks the 14th anniversary of Pixar’s Finding Nemo! I realized this at about 9pm last night, just as I was beginning to develop a sweet tooth. The kids were already asleep and I’ve never been much of a late night muncher myself, so while I wanted to satisfy my craving, I also wasn’t prepared to indulge in anything too heavy or sugary. With that (and Nemo) in mind, I began to search my kitchen for the perfect snack…but what I found was that “grocery shopping” has moved its way up to the top of my to-do list. Luckily, I also found plain greek yogurt, a couple oranges, and some leftover chocolate chips… and thus, this grown-up sweet tooth solution (aka the “Lucky Fin” Parfait) was born.
DIY Sulley Shawl (Monsters Inc)

Last weekend Disney and fashion lovers from all over gathered at the Disneyland Resort in Anaheim, CA for the semi-annual fan organized event known as Dapper Day. Dapper Day celebrates the tradition of “stepping out in style,” and while many guests choose vintage and vintage-inspired fashion, I always like to bring my own personal style which tends to be more modern and above all, colorful.
DIY Easter Egg Pillows
Posted in DIY
In an effort to add some Springtime cheer to our home decor, I decided to make some decorative pillows in the shape of Easter eggs. For those who don’t know me…I’m not exactly what you would call a master seamstress. In fact, the exact opposite is true so trust me when I tell you that this craft is definitely beginner friendly. To add a little Disney flare, I made some printable iron-on transfers of some of my favorite Disney-inspired designs that my husband recreated for this project. The result was an adorably squishable pillow that would make a perfect addition for any Easter basket.
