Ever since Starbucks arrived at Disneyland, it appears to be the number one place to go for coffee at the resort. Don’t be fooled by the “Disney-fied” names. Disneyland Resort has four Starbucks coffee locations. Two of these are located in Downtown Disney. Inside Disneyland Park you’ll find the Starbucks at Market House, located on Main Street. And Fiddler, Fifer, and Practical Cafe houses the Starbucks at Disney California Adventure.
But with such popularity also comes longer lines. And as badly as you may need that Iced Americano, your little ones might not always be as willing to “waste” precious Disney time. So I’ve decided to comprise a list of other convenient spots to grab a quick coffee drink while at the resort. (In no particular order.)
Jolly Holliday Bakery Cafe
Jolly Holiday Bakery Cafe is a favorite of mine for a quick espresso. They have a small but adequate variety of hot and iced coffee drinks as well as seasonal drinks (like Pumpkin Spice Latte in the Fall and Winter.) Jolly Holiday also has what I consider to be the best breakfast sandwich in the parks. It is a croissant sandwich with scrambled eggs and cheese (it also comes with bacon, but I order mine without because I’m vegetarian.) If you enjoy people-watching, the outdoor seating is located right on Main Street and it’s a great place to grab a bite in the morning and watch excited guests entering the park. I love to start Dapper Day mornings here and watch as all of the fabulous outfits stroll in.
Hungry Bear Restaurant
If you’re looking for a fancier pick-me-up, Hungry Bear Restaurant offers a specialty cold brew that changes seasonally. The current featured flavor is the Snickerdoodle Cold Brew. This drink is a cold brew topped with snickerdoodle cream foam, cookie crumbles, and a small snickerdoodle cookie. Hungry Bear is located in Critter Country right across from Splash Mountain. They open at 11am so this is the perfect spot for late starters or an afternoon pick-me-up.
For a counter service breakfast option, Tomorrowland Terrace offers quick breakfast plates in the morning. Along with regular or decaf coffee, they also offer Cold Brew and Nitro Cold Brew if you’re like me and need something a little stronger.
Gourmet Coffee Cart
Located in Disney California Adventure next to the bridge between Paradise Pier and Pacific Wharf, this cart has the widest coffee drink selection of any location in Disneyland besides Starbucks. Here you can get hot and iced coffee and espresso drinks with various flavor options. But my favorite treat about this coffee cart is that it also offers adult coffee beverages with alcohol like Bailey’s Irish Cream or Kahlua.
Schmoozies is a smoothie stand at Disney California Adventure with a self-proclaimed “epic coffee menu” similar to that of Jolly Holiday. But what makes Schmoozies unique is the Make Mine Mocha. It’s an ice-blended cold brew drink topped with whipped cream and chocolate. It’s basically a caffeinated chocolate milkshake. I can’t finish a whole one on my own, but it’s delicious and great if you like sweet drinks!
