Raise your hand if you’re in love with Forky from Toy Story 4! Keep reading for step by step instructions on how to make your own DIY Forky!
In Pixar’s Toy Story 4, Bonnie goes to kindergarten for the first time and makes a new friend… but not in the way you’d expect. Using a pair of googly eyes, some pipe cleaner, and a very special spork, Bonnie creates a friend for herself and names him Forky.
Starting today, you can bring home the heartwarming magic of Forky and the gang in Toy Story 4 on Blu-ray, Digital, and DVD with over an hour of bonus features celebrating the film’s iconic characters! The bonus features also include a really cute segment called “Toy Stories” where the Toy Story 4 cast and crew share their own personal love of toys!
Zoe and I also love toys (and we love Toy Story!) so we decided to celebrate the blu-ray release by making our own Forky while we watched Toy Story 4 at home. And since we didn’t want him to be lonely, we made him a few friends! (We named them Knifey and Spoony)
Here’s how to make a DIY Forky of your very own.
- Plastic Spork (or another plastic utensil)
- Googly Eyes (preferably 2 different sizes to mimick Forky’s)
- Red Pipe Cleaner (or another color of your choosing)
- Popsicle Stick (broken in half)
- Clay (play-doh works to… we actually used aluminum foil on some of ours so that’s also an option)
- School Glue
- Wikki Stix in Red and Blue (or other colors)
Step 1: Glue googly eyes to the convex side of the spork. Let dry.
Step 2: Add clay to the base of the spork and stand upright. Insert 2 popsicle stick halves into the clay to create feet. (Forky has a rainbow sticker on one of his, but this part is optional)
Step 3: Wrap pipe cleaner around the center of the spork and shape the ends into hands.
Step 4: Use Wikki Stix to make a mouth and eyebrows for your DIY Forky (you can also get creative and add hair and other features if you so desire).
Step 5: Watch Toy Story 4 with your new friend!
