Many who know me might be surprised to learn that my #1 favorite movie of all time is actually not a Disney movie. That title actually goes to the 1991 film, Hook. Aside from every scene with Dante Basco (my #1 childhood crush that even as an adult still holds a special place in my heart), my favorite scene from the movie is when the Lost Boys are eating an imaginary feast of Neverland foods.
Inspired by a recipe I saw on Facebook, I decided to make my own version of the pie that my inner child has always been dying to get her hands on. That said, this version isn’t really a “pie” at all, and is actually a dip meant to be eaten with cookies, graham crackers, apples, or whatever else strikes your fancy. No baking required!
- 1 box funfetti cake mix
- 2 cups 12oz tub of whipped topping (such as Cool Whip)
- 2 cups vanilla yogurt
- food coloring
- Combine cake mix, whipped topping, and vanilla yogurt in a large bowl
- Separate some of the mixture into ziplock bags, using food coloring to color each. Then use a different color to color the remaining mixture in the bowl.
- Pour mixture from bowl into a large pie tin. Then cut a small hole in the corner of one of the filled ziplock bags and pipe dollops on top. Repeat this with each of the ziplock bags until you are happy with the look of your “pie.” Refrigerate 1 hour, and enjoy with your favorite dippable treats… or throw it around and cream your fellow lost loys. Just don’t forget to yell “Bangarang!”
